Only Complaint about my 2011
You guys are right, I have a Vermillon Red 2010 and I have found trash under the paint in 3-4 places on the truck. I said the same thing, why a 40K truck has a $500 paint job on it? I did notice that the door panals on my friends 2011 is thiner then mine. When you shut the door on his truck the whole door rattles it is thin.. The orange peel is a way to hide trash and ect.. They are going to water base paint in 2013 the Body Shop manger told me that the factory sets up them robot to paint orange peel to hide flaws. Like a guys said silver and white hides flaws and lot better the RED and Black!
So far I haven't noticed anything wrong with my paint. Then again, I haven't waxed it or gotten down and dirty yet. My doors & panels seem extremely tight and close with a solid thud. I have never had a truck door(s) sound so solid when closing. I had 2008 F-250, 2003 F-150, 2000 F-150. This one is the tightest yet.
Has it ever worked? I replaced my speakers at around 2,000 miles and had a rattle in the door. I pulled the panel and found that two different size screws were used to secure the speaker and the two rear screws were barely hand tight. It may be that it was never connected properly and the locking clip on the wire harness was never attached to the speaker properly. Hit a few bumps and it popped loose. Take it to the dealer and have them fix it under warranty.

I posted earlier to this thread concerning my paint issues. I finally get the truck back from the dealer and the paint repair looks better than the factory paint. I had a chance to wash the truck on monday even though rain was on the way. I went to dry the truck with my Meg's Water Magnet towel and heard a dragging noise when I wiped the water off of the hood. I found a rough film on the hood, fenders, top of cab, basically the whole truck. I then do a close-up inspection and find tiny black paint specks over most of the truck. The truck had been cleaned prior to drop off and I always perform a visual walk around at drop off and pick up of my vehicles.
I washed off the hood yesterday afternoon and followed up with a clay bar, DA polisher and Meg's Swirl X. The black paint specks didn't budge. I hit it with Meg's Ultimate Compound and it removed the paint specks.
I attempted to call the Service Manager yesterday and received the typical phone transfer 3 X and then a phone that rings endlessly. I wrote a professional letter to the service manager and it went out it in yesterday afternoon's mail. I'll give him 5 business days to respond and then I'll attempt to contact the GM's office. I guess they give you an excellent deal during the sale because their service is sub par.
I was a service writer and manager so I am really trying not to pre-judge but this is totally unacceptable. I always answered my phone unless I was out of the office. I had an answering machine to take the calls if I was out of the office.
Not happy at all...
