I had a 2006 XLT SCREW that I sold a little over 2 years ago and totally regret it. I just got back from the Ford dealership where I drove a 2011 Lariat SCREW that I am thinking about purchasing. Seeing at how expensive this vehicle is going to be I was just wondering if anyone had any comments (negative or positive) about these newer F150's? Have they addressed and corrected the spark plug issue that plagued the 2005 & up models? Thanks in advance.

 

The spark plug issue with the 5.4 was addressed with the later 08 models. The 2011's have all new engines, so not even a concern. I would suggest drive all of the compariable trucks and make a decision. The newer F-150's are outstanding.

 

i just bought a 2011 truck today. of course im still in the honeymood phase and am in love with it. ive owned many 150's and this is the best.

 

Mine was a toss up between the FX2 and a Lariat. I even ordered the FX2 and later changed my mind. I went from a SCAB to a SCREW. I HAD to have leather due to the amount I sweat down here, so the XLT was out. I liked the look of the FX2 better, I like the monochrome look, but they didn't have one with the ecoboost on the lot other than the one I ordered. The short of it I bought the Lariat with almost no options. It has the heated/cooled seats and that is about it. I would buy the same truck over again in a heartbeat. It rides nice, pulls great, gets decent gas mileage. I love it, almost as much as my 96 150 XL.

 

Total redesign in 09 then all new powertrains in 11. Comparison reviews put it at no.1, sales reflect that as well. Ford truly has the best in class truck right now.

I have owned all the big three truck many times over typically picking which ever I like best at the time. 99-02 I was gm all the way. O3 ford, 05 dodge, 06 gm, 09,10,11 ford has been my favorite truck on the market. The 11s are the best ones yet. I think once you test drive them you Will see for yourself.

 

Knew you would be back! I bought an '11 back in Feburary and have right at 10k miles on it now. 5.0 engine get's great gas mileage but the 6 speed tranny seem's to get confused shifting sometimes. Sheetmetal is a little thinner then my '04 and low end torque can't compare to my '04 with the 5.4 and 3.73 gear's. Overall it's a nice and comfortable truck and still better then the competition! Well I'm no longer thinking about the 2011 Lariat because I picked it up tonight. It's the tuxedo black with black leather interior. I really missed my old truck a lot and new one day I would be back in an F150. I am having a hard time though figuring out when it is running though it is so quiet. I'll get some new pics up soon.

 

also include which engine, 4x4 or 4x2, bed size etc..

 

Engine = 5.0L V8
Bed Size = 5.5ft
4WD

Don't really see myself using the 4WD option all that often, especially here in Hawaii, but nice to know when I move back to the mainland in a couple of years (with an extremely low mileage truck) it will be there if I need it.

Even though you probably won't need the 4 wheel drive put it in 4 wheel every couple months and run it on a beach or some place just to keep everything lubed up and working.
