Which Gears?

Forum Members,
I am currently running a 3:55 gear on my 09 2wd 4.6 3V with 33's and its a dog. I don't drive much on the highway, just state roads and stop light to stop light driving. Need your opinions on which gear I should go with when I lift(6") my truck with 35's or possibly 37's. I was possibly leaning towards a 4:10 gear, what do you all think? Thanks in advance for the help...

With 35's and the possibility of 37's I would go 4.56 maybe 4.88. I have stock sized tires and 4.56's with the 4.6... I love it.

The consensus seems to be 35" tires = 4.56 and 37's = 4.88..

I have a set of 4.56 geaRS I'm trying to get rid of actually. I was going to put them on my truck but I decided against 35's. If your interested, theyre brand new and they include the ring, pinion, and notched cross pin required for install. The brand is Yukon, and Im only asking $250 plus shipping.

Just so people will know... a notched cross pin is NOT required for 4.56's. The "correct" way to do it is to grind a little bit of material off of the inside of the teeth on the ring gear where the pin goes in. Not a lot, just enough to clear the cross pin. Grinding a small amount of material off the ring gear will not negatively affect the integrity of it.

Shipping weight should be around 20lbs for the R&P set for anyone interested.

Indeed. But for those that dont want to go grinding on stuff themselves, the notched pin is still a suitable option.
