Ford stock X plan

I tried a search here for the answer I was looking for because I know this topic was already discussed but the search did not reveal the answer I was looking for so here is my question:

I am interested in the the Ford stock X plan but I do not know how many shares it takes to be eligible for it. I have seen any from 1 - 100 shares to be eligible.

I also did a general search on the internet and once again some people say you only need to have one share but I do not think that is right. The Ford site was not much help either.

I figured with the market tanking like it is now is the time to buy some stock.

Thanks for your help!

You could try requesting an X-plan pin here:

I recieved my x-plan PIN this spring through stock ownership. I had to own 100 shares for at least 6 months and I had to show proof of the length of time and amount of onwership.

Here is the e-mail I received from shareholder services in Janurary:
Thank you for your recent email.

As a special thank-you to our shareholders, we offer qualifying shareholders the opportunity to participate in our "Friends & Neighbors" Special Vehicle Pricing Privilege (also known as our "X-Plan").

To qualify for this offer to qualifying shareholders, you must be a current Ford Motor Company shareholder who has held a minimum of one hundred (100) shares of Ford Motor Company stock (Ticker: F) for at least the past 6 months. Qualifying shareholders are limited to one PIN per 12-month period.*

An electronic copy of the application to be submitted is attached. Please return the completed application and appropriate documentation as instructed on the attached application. Once we have established your eligibility to participate in this program, an X-Plan number will be issued for you to take to your dealership. Typical turnaround time for issuance of an X-Plan PIN is 3-5 business days.

Sincerely,

I did not realize that owning stock you could qualify for an x-plan pin. Given that the cost of Ford Stock right now is about $11/share, it seems like it would be a smart investment to purchase the $1,100 worth of stock for the savings and reduction of hassle when purchasing. I will have to keep this in mind when I get a bit closer to purchasing the Mustang I have been considering.

FWIW, I just ordered a truck under X Plan. 2011 SCREW 6.5' bed, EB FX4, lux pkg, and a few accessories.

Total price was $45,315

X Plan: $40,718, savings of $4,597

D Plan: $39,122, savings of $6,193

A/Z Plan: $39,022, savings of $6,293

I got the X Plan through my wifes uncle whom works for Ford. If you arent quite ready to order, a PIN is good for one year from when you get it. Additionally, ALL factory rebates are VALID with X plan, some dealers might try and tell you differently.

I bought my wifes Escape and now this truck with X plan, a wonderful experience. No haggling BS, well, some but with other stuff not the price of the truck. If a dealer tries to hose you, you can go elsewhere and get the same price and start over. This was a HUGE benefit to me with the Escape as one dealer flat out lied to me and I walked out of the showroom. Went to another and started out from the same spot and ended up getting a better deal.

Folks used to hand them out here. Maybe try a thread in the GD forum, i'll bet you can snag one. My wifes uncle gets 12 a year!

Good luck!

Thanks, that is good to know. Looks like it is only $40 for a membership with them, definitely worth it.

I would imagine owning a mustang would be a requirement

Bought my 100 at the end of July so I would meet the 6 month requirement when I order sometime next Spring. I figure I could save some headaches with the x-plan and perhaps save some money. I plan on holding the stock for the next 15 to 20 years and use the x-plan benefit more than once. Maybe make some dollars to boot. Besides it's a pain to rely on someone else for a pin or join a group to get the discount. Did that with the AQH when I bought a 2008 Taurus X for the wife.
