rear end vibration 2010 f150 4x4
rear end vibration 2010 f150 4x4
i have a 2010 f150 4x4 supercab with a 3.55 limited slip differential. i did add bigger tires 275/70-18 (33inch tires and same width as stock) and i notice that i have a vibration in the rear end when turning sharply left or right from a stop. one time did it really bad like the limited slip locked in or something. i know that its something to do with the limited slip rear end but is this normal? by the way i only have 9450 miles on the truck. i'm probably going to bring it into the dealer under warrenty and see what they think about it. i want to see if anyone else is experiencing the same problems with their 2009-2011 f 150 trucks with limited slip differentials.
thanks all

well, took my truck into the ford dealer today and got the news. turns out the clutch packs in the limited slip axel are borderline junk! they are upgrading the clutch pack from stock. they said they have had a pile of these coming in and ford hasn't made a recall yet. the ford dealer put an emergency request for them for me otherwise it will be the end of september before they will be in ( ON BACKORDER) if that says how many warrenty repairs there are...
so anyone with this rear end should look at getting them replaced under warrenty before its too late.

Does it do the hop at higher speeds? Like 55mph or so? Thanks for the update...how much they want for repairs if its not a secret?

it doesnt do it at high speeds. just when i turn sharp from a dead or rolling stop. i dont know how much the repairs are, everything is covered under warrenty.
ah damn, must be nice haha. I never owned a vehicle which was still under warranty :o
that i couldn't tell you, i guess i never asked. i have the 3.55 limited slip and is getting a better clutch pack in it. the stock clutch packs are trouble from what they have told me
I am having exactly the same issue as you, at first I was not sure if it was normal, I have never owned anything with a limited slip.
I have a super crew,3:55 and the limited slip with only 35000 Km
By chance do you have the backup camera, if so are you having any issues with it.

I understand that it takes a different lube, but with low km, this should not need to be added, the factory lube should have been sufficient.
I don't want to add anything, then the dealer will say that it is my fault, and fight me on the warranty coverage.
