SYNC + Verizon + compatibility?
SYNC + Verizon + compatibility?
Is there some sort of Verizon phone compatibility list?
I have an LG Octane. Phone #1 was working great with SYNC. I got it wet and had it replaced. I have gone through 3 LG octanes now and none of them work with SYNC. SYNC actually powers down the phone when they sync. It is an actual issue with the phone and LG is working on a software fix.
In the meantime Verizon is going to give me another type of phone. Any suggestions? LG cosmos? Samsung?

Syncmyride.com has an owner-to-owner forum (with lots of discussions about phones and carriers) as well as a list of compatible phones (though it might be out-of-date).
My HTC Touch Pro 2 works great with Sync.

Thank you. that is the list I was looking for. For some reason I could not get to that page from syncmyride. Funny how most of Verizon phones have issues with the text feature.
I used an Omnia 2 Windows 6 phone and it worked the best with loud volume.
I've recently tried 3 DroidX2 Android phones and all were garbage with bugs that crippled the phone. However they worked fine with the sync. However the volume was always low for the phone. Even the bluetooth volume had no affect whether is was set to 0 or full.
I am now using an HTC Incredible 2 phone (awesome phone, the best!) and the sync works identical to the DroidX2 phones where the volume is low and the bluetooth volume has no control. I just turn the volume up but wish it was louder for the days I have my windows open. I guess this is a google phone thing or the recent bluetooth standard.
Wife has a 2010 Mustang GT and her Sprint Phone is having issues, it's a simple none smart flip phone. Dealership said their phones worked but hers does not. I have yet to put my phone on her sync to see if it's the actual sync or the phone.
Love the sync and it's navigation but now I have visual maps with my Android phone and the window mount to use it. So I don't know which will be better, Google Maps or Sync Navigation. So far we just use Mapquest and print out the directions because we can taylor it to our needs with route avoidance plus you can taylor to stay off of highways or expressways. I don't know if google maps has that power and I know Ford Sync does not. My Mapquest maps come in handy when towing the trailer on vacations so I know what to expect ahead of time.
I don't text unless I absolutely can't talk so the text feature doesn't mean much to me. However Indiana just finally pass the "no texting" law in vehicles (Thank GOD!) so this feature could come in handy for those who that communicate more with type than voice.
