Sharp looking truck.
I am looking at swapping my 6.2 raptor for a 6.2 platinum. I bought the raptor last year strictly because it was the only way to get the 6.2, and I wanted it for towing. I like the 11 upgraded features and the max tow pkg is probably better suited for what I need it for.

Since you wanted the taller offroad look, why did you choose the KR over the Raptor.

Thanks. I was in between the ECO and the 6.2. My heart wanted the growl, and my senses said MPG/0-60 power. I drove them both and while I know the numbers say the Eco is faster on the short track, the 6.2 just felt more powerful. When your going 70mph and you hit the gas there is no comparison IMO...that V8 sits you back in the seat.

I'm sure everyone is curious what kind of MPG i'm getting with a 6" lift, 35" AT's, and a 6.2 gasaholic V8.

Less than 1000 miles but these are observations from the instant MPG readout:

@ 70 - 12 mpg

@ 65 - 13 mpg

@ 55 - 14.5 mpg

Overall City - 12.5.

Overall it's been staying about 12.5, never lower than 9, never higher than about 15 for any sustained time.

I didn't choose the 6.2 to run low RPM's and save money at the pump. I bought it b/c it's fun to stick my foot to the floor. I live down country roads & highways and after full break-in i'm hoping for 15MPG at home....average i'll be happy with 14MPG.

Lift kit was dealer installed, but I believe it's made by ATX. Anyone familier with them? I see mostly Pro Comp stuff at other dealers...I know there is alot to a lift kit, but for me it's about the look. Ride seems pretty good considering the big tires.

Sounds like about the same mileage as my 6.2L Raptor. Its avg is 12.5 mixed driving. Pulling a 4000-5000 pound trailer it drops down about 8.5-9.5 at 70-80mph on the highway. Pulls it like a freight train though.

Top end on this thing is killer, and I know it's got a lot more to give if it were tuned properly

I'm actually not too depressed with the gas mileage so far. Its probably less than the eco, but I'm not sure if its a big enough difference for me to complain about. It's all stock right now, but the trip computer is saying 14.1mpg on my daily commute. ~8 miles of regular streets and ~8 miles of heavy traffic freeway (its not quite stop and go, but its not really free flowing either)

So, overall... 6.2L = a fun time

I know if they would have done a 4.0 or 4.5L V8 Ecoboost, it would be a no brainer which way I would go. But after driving the somewhat buzzy little 6 banger, I can't give up the rumble of a 6.2L, at least not yet, If I do swap for Platinum this year, I am sticking with the 6.2L.

Did you check you mileage before you lifted it. I was sort of hoping that if I do swap my Raptor, that I might get more in the 14 avg mpg range out of a 6.2L , since I would not be turnig those 10 ply 35s that the Raptor has, and the Platinum does have some aero dynamic advatages to the Raptor as well.
