2011 F150 question
2011 F150 question
So i test drove a Lariat 4x4 5.0L in my town today and loved everything except when i drove it i felt a small shake driving it. Went to a totally different dealer in another county later and test drove a Fx4 ecoboost and same deal. Anyone else noticed a small shake/vibration? it handles bumps and everything good just in general its a small vibration through the truck. i thought it was just cheap tires but idk. Not going to dive in to one if they drive like that stock.
No, I have not. In fact, the quiet, smooth ride of my 2011 F150 is one of the things I like most about it. My 07 Nissan Frontier shook and rattled like nothing I've ever seen. I was all too happy to trade.
yea it's not horrible to the point i couldnt handle it but i dont want ANY vibration with a new truck. it handles bumps and things good just shook. so idk guess i'll check out some more first
Mine has no vibrations and has the quietest cabin of any vehicle that I have owned. I've had the truck for a little over two months and have a little over 4,000 miles on it. Could be a tire issue like another poster suggested, might want to give it another shot.Good luck with your search.

Yes, I know exactly what your talking about. The Michelin Off Road tires have a some minor vibration on the F150 4WDs than some of the All Season tires do that some F150 4WD version get. I drove 1 2011 F150 4WD that had the 18" wheels and the All Season tires, although they call them Off Road??!! Then I drove mine that actually came with the 17" wheels and real Off Road tires. I then drove a Scab 4WD that had the same tires as mine and had the same vibration.
However, after driving on them, the vibration is now gone. I think that the tires needed to break in. Don't fret, Ford offered to replace all of mine if I found that they were defective. As it was, it was a normal condition for the tires. I love these tires BTW, best Off Road tires to date. I liked the Bridgestone Dueler AT Revos but not as much as the Michelin LTX A/T 2s. Had Goodyear Wrangler Silent Armors also and they are JUNK. No grip, out of round, and produce a lot of vibration even after the out of round tires were replaced. JUNK, JUNK, JUNK! These Michelin LTX A/T 2 tires are the best out there that I've found and they were STANDARD on the truck!

My 2004 Nissan Titan's rattles were so bad, I went nuts everytime I had drive the POS! Thank god I was rid of it after a long long 1 year of new truck ownership!
2011 F150 Vibration
I ordered my f150 lariet offroad in march 2011. it arrived march 31st. 2011. i took it to the Michelin dealer and put on ltx a/t 2. at 6000 miles we put another ser on because we couldnt get them to stay balanced. the 2nd set balanced ok but i still have the vibration everyone talks about. at all speeds the truck feels like a tire out of balance. Ford said drive shaft had movement so the replaced it. no change. rotate tires again and balance them, no change. Took them to goodyear dealer and had them balanced on a (high speed balancer). No change. from what ive read nobody really knows the fix. May 11th 2013 and my truck just rolled over 15000 miles. Its going back to ford to see if maybe somthing is bent maybe from shipping. I welcome any ideas or answers to this issue. i love my truck the bronze over adobe.
Odd. I too have had no problems with my '11 Lariat. I have the 6.2 with max tow and I had the 18" Goodyears. The truck was butter smooth. Then I ordered a set of Cooper AT3's and had them mounted on a different set of the stock 18" rims. Then I got a really rough ride and the truck rode stiff. After a couple of days I took it back to where I bought the tires and asked the guy to take it for a drive. He told me the problem was that I wasn't running a "P" series tire. That I was running an "LT" tire that required more air pressure and had a stiffer side wall. That's what I wanted, but I didn't like the ride. So I reordered another set of the AT3's in a passanger series tire and all has been back to butter. I don't know why an "LT" made such a difference with the Coopers. But, I'm happy.....Hope you get it figured out.
