I'm pretty impressed with the 5.0L myself. The ecoboost can go to hell. we have 2 with our company and i hate them. It's still a V6 end of story. i'm all about V8 power/noise. Coming from a 5.4L 07 Fx4 the new 5.0L is a great improvement including comfort. as for the 6.2L i feel let down in both chevy/ford's i have driven both and there not over the top power like i thought. Then again i'm driving a roush stage 3 at 12psi lol.

 

Nice. Now you can be the test subject. I need to call around to the dealers here and see how they feel about tuning before I really take the plunge.. I do have the extended warranty and I would hate for them to try and pull some BS and say the tuner broke something...

 

Why would they be over the top power?
Not like they are a huge jump in hp and torque over the 5.0.
Personally I would take either over the 5.0 if mpg was not a consideration....

 

I put a boost gauge in my EB, and pulling a trailer in the mountains I could hit 18psi regular..never lost speed on a pull...though I did need 3rd a few times.

most of the time it's not more than 13psi. Cruise around 3-4.

 

With any increase in displacement there should be noticable power difference which i didn't feel. and i personally dont care about any i'll boost the 5.0L i boost everything i own. .i was just giving my 2 cents like everyone else

 

Well after driving it for a few days my opinion has changed a bit. It feels pretty Damn strong all over the powerband. The mileage has been 13.5 for the first 250 miles but I travel at 75 miles per hour about 50 % of the time. I imagine it will get better after a couple thousand miles. I will get my tunes in the next couple of months and that should help also. For reference my 2010 was averaging about 16.8 driving the same route everyday and it had 20000 miles on it. It had the 4.6 3v.
