Why all the turbo bashing?

i think you're mistaken. those audi's are all FSI engines.
the issues with direct injection are well documented. not saying ford will experience these same issues, but they certainly exist in some of the designs over the last 5 years. unless i'm the one whose mistaken, which is always possible.

FSI did not appear until 2003 in the 1.6L used in the A3 and was phased in over the next few years on other engines. The coking issue referred to occurred well before 2003 in the 1.8T motor.

Were they modded at all? My turbo'd car didnt have an issue with carbon buildup until I went catless.
