You covered your beautiful black leather seats with aftermarket cloth covers? WTF? Reminds me of this Chinese couple I know who puts saran wrap on the kitchen cupboards so they don't get dirty. I could see it if you had worn out cloth seats, and needed a little lipstick, but I for one do not agree with covering the leather (that you paid dearly for) to preserve it for the next owner.

I paid to upgrade my FX4. I wouldn't, won't, and never will cover them.

How much more for a cover for the middle jump seat on the non-center console interiors?

 

Ha ha, canadianelbow that's funny! I'd definitely agree with your saran wrap comment if we were talking about the garbage walmart covers you can buy for $10. Taking care of the seats and keeping things nice is just one advantage. If the temperature is perfect, then yes, leather is nice. But in the summer it is too hot and winter it is too cold. Here in Arizona, you wouldn't believe how many people are banging our doors down to cover their hot leather seats. I'd say 4 out of 5 of our local "walk in customers" are covering leather seats on new vehicles. On top of that, it can take as little as 2 or 3 years on a new vehicle in our climate, for the leather to split and become the most uncomfortable surface imaginable, and an eyesore on top of that.

Before I got my seat covers on, I would seriously cringe every time sliding in out of my truck because I see everyday that the first spot that starts showing wear, is the left side of the driver seat where you slide in and out.

P.S. Just got in from an 800 mile road trip today. On the ride my daughter got car sick and barfed all over the back seat. Guess what? Leather is still perfect. Got the back covers on a few days ago and will get pics up when I get a chance.

 

I think those looks really great! Love that color with the silver truck. Looks like the tan would look good with the tan interior too. I don't know why you are complaining about the heat here though. It's only about 120 in the shade!

 

. I know, it's a killer. Thankfully I'm out of town now for a good month in some cooler weather. Where I'm at right now, my cousin tints windows. So I'll finally be able to get that off the checklist. The tinted windows help a ton! Remo, by chance do you have a new lifted F-150? I need to find some local guys with lifted trucks to get some ideas of what to do with mine. I think Berge Ford has a lifted 2011. I'd like to check out an 8 inch in person.

 

Nope I'm truckless. I had $30+ saved up and all in company stock when I joined this site researching which model I wanted to get and what I wanted to do to it. Lost my job and the company went bk wiping out all my cash. Haven't caught up yet but I will eventually. Then I'm gonna get my truck back! I saved your site. That's a sharp truck. For me, I like my leather to show while it looks new and then use seat covers later when they start wearing out...but whatever works for you! They do look pretty good! I had camo ones on my previous F150 that was dark green w/beige trim because the leather ripped, and I loved the look!

The front seat covers fit like a glove and weren't too tough to get in. My suggestion is raise the seat as high as possible to fit the bottoms and when you need to push something between the top and bottom fold it as far back as possible to open the gap.

For the rears you should search the form for how to fold down the upper half of the back seats. Without doing that it would be impossible to get them on. Two hints on it, first is raise the bottom all the way up to give you space to get behind and second is that it's not a big round peice you are looking for, the latch is a peice of round steel about 1/4 inch is diameter just above the bigger "button" peice of steel. Use a boxed end wrench and it's a snap to open.

There was a slight defect in the console lid cover I got and I've got some fitment issues with the rear seat covers. I'll be calling them on Monday to discuss both.

Again, the next owner will thank you for not putting any wear on his leather seats. Your next move should be to a moving company supply store, for some of that clear stick on carpet protector. Oh, and a steering wheel cover too...

Here in the desert it is hot. Sitting down on leather that has sat in the sun all day sucks. Sitting on cheap leather after being out in 100+ heat sucks. I like the durability of the leather but it has it's draw backs also. I didn't put the covers on to keep the leather in good shape, I did it so I can enjoy my truck more which is the purpose of mod'ing the truck to your own personal likes.

Guess I shouldn't have gotten the windshield sunshade either or do you consider that saving the dash for the next owner also?

i have a 2005 fx4 and iam just wondering if leathers seat covers out of a 2010 will fit on my seats??
