Ok, so I had the rough 1-2 shift which has gotten better with time (almost 4k now). But the 2-3 shift has me concerned a little bit. When driving normally ie not giving it lots of gas, it will shift to 3rd and then a second later it will drop anywhere from 200-500 rpm. Shows its still in 3rd gear when its doing this. Now if I am driving aggressively it will hold 3rd just fine. Any ideas or is it dealer time.

 

I'm wondering if this is the torque convertor is going from unlocked to locked condition. When driving normal, the convertor will lock up which gives good fuel economy. When you drive aggressively, the convertor will stay unlocked until it hits a higher gear or when the throttle is backed off.

 

I have a 2011 5L and it's done the same thing since day 1. I only have about 3,000 km and I'm too concerned about it, but I will get the dealer to check it out sometime. I'm thinking maybe a reflash? I towed my boat for the first time with it last week and didn't notice it, but I didn't experiment much either...and like foxer, if I'm hard on the gas, it doesn't happen and the display shows third gear.

Check with dealer about a tranny software update

 

my 2011 was shifting hard from 3rd to 4th and my warning lights were on, it ended up being my torque converter.
