Tow Mirror on drivers side, telescoping out from vibration

The drivers side tow mirror doesn't have the resistance that the passengers side mirror has. So after shutting the door numerous times, the mirror telescopes out where I continuously have to keep pushing it back in.

Anyone else having this problem?? The dealership is going to see if there's anything they can do. I really don't want to replace it. Is there any way to adjust the resistance of the sliding action???

Thanks

Mine do that also after a while.

I noticed that the passenger side will do it also when that door is used alot.

I believe it is just plastic friction that holds them in place - nothing much you can do as far as adjustment.

It's just one of those things I guess - when I notice it, I just bump my shoulder against them to push them back.

Dealer talked to Ford and they said the mirrors shouldn't do that so they are replacing the mirror. Hope it doesn't continue.
