Black soot on tailpipe?

So I noticed this morning going out to my truck I had some black soot on the backside of my chrome tailpipe. I had been reading the other day on some other sites that the Gotts mod could cause this. I've had the Gott's mod on my truck for a few months now, so I was curious about what you all thought?

I haven't been home yet, so I haven't checked my air filter.

Normal. I get it on my F150 and Fusion's pipes. All cars have some soot in the exhaust. Unless it runs on batteries.

Mine is completely stock and has the black sooty tailpipe too. It's completely normal. It does get worse the harder you drive the truck.

Or you have a 2008+ diesel with the DPF...the tailpipes on the new diesels are cleaner than gasser tailpipes!

I have thought about it, but I am going to wait until it is out of warranty. I don't really need the extra HP...heck it's got plenty now and I have to try not to roast the $300 a piece Good Years! The extra few MPG sure would be nice though!

At least, that's how I will sell it to the wife!

On these newer cars and trucks I do not think soot is normal my wife also has a camry no soot neither does my 5.4 and all we can buy here is fuel with at least 10% ethanol...
