Wow. I just sold my older tundra for a new f150. Wondering if I made a mistake. Thought ford had gotten their **** together over the past 5 years. (ponders purchase)

I think you will be fine. The quality of our trucks is great, I believe this to be an isolated incident that will eventually be rectified by Ford. I'm just currently unhappy with the situation and the handling of it, but again I believe and hope Ford will go out of their way to make sure I'm happy.

Ford contacted me today and said the part should ship this week. I also placed a request that Ford replace the truck as it has been out of service for over 35 days, I will hear from them this week as to what my options are.

Mine has two cables but is extremely easy to lower and raise. Much easier than my prior Dakota. Love it.

Updates:

7-11-11: Dealership called and said recieved an email saying the part is shipping, but dont hold your breath it could be longer.

7-12-11: Ford called said part shipped, but no confirmation or tracking. I asked that the truck be replaced with a new one because its been over 30 days as per Michigan lemon law. They told me they will start the paper work but they cant say 100% Ford will replace it and I should recieve a call with an update by 7-15-11.

7-15-11: 40 days with no truck, Ford never called today. I placed 2 calls into the lady dealing with my case and left a voicemail with no responce. Monday morning I will be calling in again and if this issue is not resolved I will be contacting an attorny.

Well my request for a new truck has been submitted for review by higher management and I should hear back late this week or at the latest next week. This is day 44 without my truck.

keep us updated

My work buddy had a 03 6.oh-no F250 and after 3 turbo's and countless other problems Ford offered high blue book for the 03' and extended warranty on a new 08 6.4L. So far he's happy and hopefully the same will happen for you.

I would want to make sure the dealer is not stalling on your request for a new truck/lemon law because he is waiting for the part to come in and hopes that you just take it back after it is "fixed." Have you talked to an attorney?

Im dealing with corporate directly. So the dealership isn't stalling at all. I have contacted an attorney and have him standing by if Ford doesn't step up and do what's right, but I'm hopeful they will.
