Mine is in the shop today for this very thing (2010 XLT Supercrew with 18k miles). They said they will fix it and it is common for this...

What they will do, I don't know... I just want it to stop..

Cool video.

Mine does the clunk sound sometimes right before I stop. I thought it was the transmission going into neutral since I never noticed a clunk when I go from a stop into a roll. I guess I'll pay more attention to it now.

I brought it to the dealer and under warranty they "fixed" it seemed to be a bit better for about a week and it came back again. They said they "reflashed" the tranny. Any thoughts guys?
Mine has/had the exact same issue. I took it to a tranny shop and they said it was fine, so I learned to live with it. Just yesterday I finally got around to lubing the slip yoke (again) to get rid of the normal clunk, and now the hard clunk on decel is gone too. Hopefully it stays gone.

Mine has gone away and is extremely smooth on stop and start now! there was a TSB on it and the parts on the invoice were "boot" and "Clamp". I have a 2010 XLT superscrew

Here is what was on the invoice:

Perform TSB 10-22-6 to address the slip-bump complaint OP CODE=102206A-0.5, BASE #4602. Cond Code=41

Parts:

Boot = 9L3Z-4421-A
Clamp = 9L3Z-3B478-

Happy camper now! Off to a three day weekend on a good note!

My sons 99 ranger did this, ford sells a special teflon lube in a tube, drop the driveshaft lube up the slip yoke and it will work fine for about a year. Make sure you mark the driveshaft before dropping.

I have a completely stock new 2011 F-150 Crew Cab 5.0L with only 1000 miles, and I think I might have the same thing, if not something similar. Right as I am coming to a complete stop, the truck lunges forward. It is very mild, but enough to bug me. I read this thread before it started happening, so maybe I'm looking too much into this issue, and it will go away as the truck breaks in. Or maybe I might need to take a trip to the dealership.

I have an 11 FX4 EB and think I have the same thing. I've noticed it as I come to a stop and restart. I have 700 miles.

That sucks! Mine doesn't make a noise like the video in this thread, but you can definitely feel it. I'll be calling the dealership next week and see what they think.

ibcop : 700 miles is not gonna be enough of a break in period for the truck
I can bet the dealer will think the same thing.
All stealerships are the same, nice when you're buying and treat you like crap once you've bought.

mine has 7500 miles and I felt it clunk a few times but, I'm not sure what it is.
Might be the same thing, might not be. I'll wait a few thousand more miles before visiting the dealership.

Once I get the Exhaust and new stereo put in the clunk won't matter. I doubt i'll hear it.

how many of you have an exhaust system ? Can you actually hear the clunk or is it more of a feeling? When I feel it i'm going about 2-10 mph and i'm braking, I never heard a clunk yet just a feeling that can only be described as a clunk.

You can't tar and feather all of them with that statement. I'd bet that a majority of them aren't like that at all.

I don't have aftermarket exhaust. No sound, just a feeling and only while braking between 2 - 10 mph, just like you what you describe.

I'm just saying does it (the Clunk) matter if you have an aftermarket exhaust system or a bunch of 10"-12" speakers installed in your truck. Now installing these just made it louder, but some can't live with a little play in the driveline. I'd say less than about a 1/4" - 3/8"

I also understand that when you pay 30,000.00 for a vehicle you shouldn't get these kinds of problems. Then again these trucks are produced in high numbers and some may never have problems while other may have problems every other week.

I'm sure some of you guys may have a different clunk (sound, feeling) but mine's not so bad. Hopefully everyone will get these problems figured out.

Thanks for the info on the TSB.

Dumb question...are TSB's like warranty issues? As in free to fix at the dealership?

Technical Service Bulletin.. TSB

If enough of one certain problem arises, or Ford catches a problem, a TSB with full explanation and a "fix" is issued..

So to be clear, a TSB is a stated fix for a common problem. Manufacturers typically will not turn a TSB into a warranty recall unless there is a safety issue, ie wheels falling off, truck exploding, airbag going off randomly, etc.
