Yea your right in the end I'm stuck driving a V6 that recently ran the BAJA 1000 race (stock I might add) against a whole field of V8's and walked all over them! Man that's depressing!

I want to see more real world results, this comment is from the Ecoboost racing post. Seems like you only have a slight advantage if you let the turbo kick in first. At best i call it a draw. either way were all driving fords.

raced a 2 wheel drive lariat eco the other day. We both had 20's, 3.55 rear end and both 2 wheel drive. I was expecting to get blown away but was very surprised. For traction reasons we both launched at 1500 rpm. Surprisingly I pulled away, barely. It didn't take him long to catch me and pull just barely ahead. My front bumper was by his mirror. At 70 I started catching him and pulled up in front of him and passed him by about 85-90 and slowly pulled away from there. Fun race! We did a few from a roll and mine most of the time killed him bad (turbo lag). We did it a few times where he wouldn't have as much lag (holding in gear in manual mode at higher rpm) and then I usually pulled up 1/2 a truck or so and it just stayed there. This is not track numbers! I'm not saying I'm faster than an eco boost! Just saying I was very impressed with my 5.0.

 

You can't always get lucky enough to race someone who can't drive. My buddy has gotten a good look at my taillights a few times in his 5.0 .

 

true, and im sure theres gonna be an EB getting a good look at my recon tailgate lights as well
