New FX4 (To Me)

Well after 8 years, I parted ways with my 02 FX4 SuperCrew and bought a used 2010 FX4 SuperCrew. Bought the truck from a member on here through the classifieds (despain85) and actually sold him my truck! Was a beautiful transaction. He drove from Nebraska, I drove from San Antonio, and we met in OKC. Love the new truck but miss all my mods on the old one. Here are the pics:

So far the only thing I've done is Line-X the bed. My wishlist is long already! Let me know what you think and any directions for the new look would be great. Definitely thinking black this time around. Oh and I am planning to put the FX4 decal back on. I know most of the guys on here who "black-out" prefer it gone like the pic, but I really like those decals.

P.S. My brother is still upset I sold the old truck

Thanks. I'm trying to prioritize a bit. The heads and tails are definitely something I want to do, along with wheels and tires, a bit of a lift (trying to figure out what I can get away with to get 35's under there), and exhaust. And if I'm going black, what do I do with my step bars? Wife needs them to get in, asked the Line-X guy and he said they have a hard time sticking to plastic, so not sure what to do yet.

I hear ya there. I've had AMP steps on my last two trucks, and will be getting them on this one as well. They are expensive up front, yes, but they really are awesome. You forget how much you paid for them in a hurry.

Your old truck rocks, as does the new one of course.

Yeah the AMP steps are awesome and ultimately what I'd like. Just a pretty price tag going with those.

Yeah, was tough to see it go, but the new one has great potential and you can't even compare the interiors. This one is sooo much nicer. Just wish I could find that elusive money tree! I hate having to wait.

Congrats on the new ride...you're going to enjoy it. But your '02 looked great too (had same year, model, and color myself)!

Thanks. Man, your truck is ridiculous! How do you like your Rancho lift? I would love that look...all black of course.

Thanks Russ....the Rancho is really a great lift; one of the better engineered systems out there and retains the factory geometry so the ride/steering is like stock. This was my third Rancho system for the 4-inch lift which really suited my needs.

Man your old truck was amazing. I hope your good taste carries to the new one. Good luck with the future mods.

Thats good to know. I've always liked the 4" lift a bit better than going a full 6. And that was my one concern about just leveling to get 35's. I've heard a variety of comments about the angles being too harsh and whatnot. This truck rides so nice, I don't really want to mess that up too much.

Thank you! Every time I look at the pics, I still miss it. Just anxious to make this new truck "mine". Your truck looks pretty clean. Did you do anything special to the bedrails or are they just armoralled?

I use Meguiars Protectant on everything plastic on the outside, and the interior.
