i toook a long trip and never ran much under 70 for 1400 miles. drove mostly 75 to 80 on the turnpikes then 70-75 the rest of the way from MO to TX. Im not an ecoboost, but i have a 2010 screw w/6.5ft bed 5.4L FX4. 3:73s Hand calculated 17.5 mpg. filled up when i got down there and then when i got back. Thats straight highway driving and i daily drive i get no less then 16 ever unless i drive it like i stole it. Whats the price difference in the eco vs. the reg. gasser and does it make up the difference? Sorry, not trying to butt in on your ecoboost thread, I was just curious

I just recently crossed 1000 miles on my truck and after the latest fill up I'm getting about 1 MPG better gas mileage than I did before...17 current, 16 prior, probably 60/40 highway city split on way to work. I initially thought it was due to the gas station, but I'm pretty sure all stations down here are the 10% ethanol crap. I'll update as I go through more fuel.

I have the 5.4 FX4 with 6.5ft stepside bed. I've never got much over 15.5mpg at best. I usually get 13.5 in daily driving and maybe 14.5-15 on a highway trip. I'd love to see the increase to 18-20mpg.

I consistently got between 19-21MPH on my 2004 F150 5.4 3.73 gears 4X4 pulling my 4200lb OFF-ROAD POPUP on the road - 50-60mph - This is going down I81 through the VA mtns and places south and west from there...

It looks like my new 2010 F150 Truck with same setup is going to do the same - maybe alittle better... I havent towed my trailer yet but have made a couple of 500 miles trips in it. For some reason I always get better gas mileage using SHELL GASOLINE ???

Ive heard a couple of reports about how strong the ECO motors are but havent heard any MPG reports yet - If I had gotten a 2011 i would have got that engine but got such a good deal on the 2010 model i couldnt refuse it haha... Always get a good deal on last years left over trucks at the dealers... They even give me $2000 trade-in on my 2004 with blown engine sight unseen... On top of that I got to keep the old truck for about 5-days at home taking all my junk off of it and then they came with their roll-back and picked it for free...

1 Imperial gallon = 1.2 US gallons.

27 MPG Imperial = 22.5 MPG US.
21 MPG Imperial = 17.5 MPG US.

I'm just wondering why he's posting 5.0 mileage figures in an Ecoboost thread............

There you go, if you drive these trucks right you can get decent mileage.
My EB is rated at 16 city, 22 highway, 18 combined, I consistently get 20 - 22 combined.

The question remains though, is it worth it to go out and buy one of these new ecoboost trucks? They seem awesome, but I can't see it as worth it for 1-2 MPG better.
