A few Ecoboost pics from underneath

I finally got a chance to get my Ecoboost on the lift today to look around at the under side.Just incase you haven't had a chance to look at your EB from down under I took a few pics.If there are any other pics you want to see just let me know and I can probably get some in the near future.I was surprised at how rusty my front driveshaft is considering my truck was built less than a month ago and its only been rained on once since I've had it.I need to hit it with some Rustbullet.

Click on hyperlinks below to view pics.

Electric steering rack
Exhaust
LH Turbo (just aft of the exhaust manifold. arrow points to the exhaust housing)
Pretty rugged looking rear diff.

Cool pics....thanks for sharing. I was surprised too on how fast the driveshaft was rusting. I know it's not that big of a deal, but surprised anyway for a brand new rig.
Sure would hate to have to replace that turbo!

Thanks for sharing an otherwise unseen view of our trucks

I noticed they went back to the aluminum driveshaft on the '11s. Perhaps that cured some of the vibration issues and slip yoke bump issues on the 09-10 models.

Is it normal for the front drive shaft to be completely covered in rust? My 2010 was built last May and the front shaft is all rusted. What could I use to clean it up? Thanks!

I think (key word 'think') that the models with split drive shafts are steel, the models with a single drive shaft are aluminum.

My '10 XLT 4x4 Scab is aluminum.

Maybe the 2 wheeler's with the single shaft are steel , I dunno.

Nice truck. In the exhaust pic, is that a resonator in front of the muffler? Just curious.

Cool pics! I have a 2011 FX4 ecoboost but I still miss my 1986 Grand National after watching your video clip. I miss my 1967 chevelle also now but today the truck is my pride and joy! Thanks for the pics they are great!

Interesting. My understanding is SCrew 5.5 have 1 piece drive shafts, 6.5 Crews have 2 piece.

Yes it is. I was thinking about cutting the resonator out and replacing it with a piece of pipe. But I heard that even messing with the exhaust on these things could be reason enough for them to void the warranty.I'll have to look into that a bit further before I do it.
