AMP Power Steps

I read that these are the same steps that Ford uses on the Platinum F150's. Can they be installed using factory wiring (2011 Lariat) or do they have to be wired up with the wiring set up that comes with the kit?

You need to use the kit that comes with the steps, and you still have to tap into the door triggers..that part is not plug and play.

Installation is simple as long as you can read and follow instructions. I've got them on my truck.

The only difference I found is that the Ford supplied AMP steps are a tad bit slower to extend and retract for some reason when compared to the AMP steps I bought aftermarket. And yes, installation is pretty straightforward; even I was able to do mine myself.
