Harley-Limited-Front Plate??

For you guys that have a 2011 Harley F150, or the new Lariat Limited. How are you attaching the front plate. The dealer wanted to drill two holes in the front bumper and just screw it on there,I said are you crazy.

what state are you in?

i know in texas you don't have to mount your license plate on the front, but you do have to have it in the car and theirs some more stipulations, i don't know what they are though.

you can always zip tie it or something onto the lower grille

I just don't like front plates so that's what I did.

This is one thing that I've looked at for the future; it may work for you:
Flip out plate kit

Food for thought anyway

It is a ticket if it is not on in Ontario Canada. That is why I can't believe Ford did not give the Dealer some options. They cannot seriously expect me to drill two holes in the front bumper with no plate holder, and screw the plate on.

why not build one? easiest way i can think of is use an old license plate put behind your lower grill, get some spacers the length of the depth of the lower grill. (can get at hardware store) mount front licence plate to front, put bolts in. no drilling and easily removable.

Must be purchased in Ottawa. Can you see if there is a plastic plate on there? or does the licence screw directly to the lower Grille.Thanks.

Take off that plate and you'll see that the dealer just put four screws straight into the lower grill, just like they did on my Harley. And I don't even need a front plate where I live. I plan on buying a new lower grill insert because of this.

The plate in the above picture is something that comes from Walmart. As stated, the dealer mounted it there himself. All that comes with the vehicle are two mounting screws.

I have 2010 HD. I insisted on using electrical ties to attach the plate and frame to the front bumper insert. You should have seen the service manager and his minions standing in front of my truck last year. Four of them wanted to drill into the tiny dimples that are on the bumper insert. Well that wasn’t going to happen. After a year the plate/frame are still holding up well with the ties.

Sorry bro but this is false, Texas Traffic code on license plates:

§ 502.404. OPERATION OF VEHICLE WITHOUT LICENSE PLATE OR
REGISTRATION INSIGNIA. (a) A person commits an offense if the
person operates on a public highway during a registration period a
passenger car or commercial motor vehicle that does not display two
license plates, at the front and rear of the vehicle, that have
been:
(1) assigned by the department for the period; or
(2) validated by a registration insignia issued by the
department that establishes that the vehicle is registered for the
period.
(b) A person commits an offense if the person operates on a
public highway during a registration period a passenger car or
commercial motor vehicle, other than a vehicle assigned license
plates for the registration period, that does not properly display
the registration insignia issued by the department that establishes
that the license plates have been validated for the period.
(c) A person commits an offense if the person operates on a
public highway during a registration period a road tractor,
motorcycle, trailer, or semitrailer that does not display a license
plate, attached to the rear of the vehicle, that has been:
(1) assigned by the department for the period; or
(2) validated by a registration insignia issued by the
department that establishes that the vehicle is registered for the
period.
(d) Subsections (a) and (b) do not apply to a dealer
operating a vehicle as provided by law.
(e) An offense under this section is a misdemeanor
punishable by a fine not to exceed $200.

Acts 1995, 74th Leg., ch. 165, § 1, eff. Sept. 1, 1995.
