Big problem! airbag light on after stereo install

I just installed a kicker 12 and amp... with a line out converter and ran the remote wire to a Purple/white wire now when motor is running the light stays on... is that curtain airbag or airbag?

i do not want to lose my warrenty.

i also used a test light on a bright yellow wire to and another one but taped it all back up..

any input is extremely helpful!

i had never unplugged any of mine either, just somehow in the process got unplugged while messing with some wires behind the dash. i didn't get charged for anything when i had taken it into ford.

Okay I might have this confused but did you take off the dash cover to plug the remote wire into the deck? Or, did you wire it straight into the in-cab fuse box? If you took the dash cover off, check the passenger seat air bag light to see if you forgot to plug it back in. I know in my truck if it remains unplugged, the air bag light will turn on.

Do you have anything sitting on the passenger seat?? If so, move whatever is on the seat to the floor and see if it turns off.

If you have triggered a fault code in the bag system, the truck will not just turn the light out. You have to have the light reset, and that can only be done by the dealer, or someone with a scan tool with the updates for '11. Even if you have solved the original problem, you wouldn't know it. The code has been stored in the trucks computer. All air bag system wiring has bright yellow plugs on them, and are usually a sliding type, (a PITA to unplug). NEVER tap into these wires, they are too sensitive, and the slightest change in amperage triggers the dash light.

Looks like you are going to be at the mercy of your dealer.....
