Rearview Mirror Question - Will Invisicord work?

Happy Easter All!!!!!!!!!!

Quick Question, I have the http://www.invisicord.com/index.html for my Mustang; works great, clean installation ect. Could this be used on my F150 FX4? If so do you know which slot in the back is the hot+12V on the mirror wiring harness?

Also, which slot is the ground on the mirrors harness?

Thanks in advance

I have a 2011 king ranch/Nav and it worked fine. However, I made my cord because I didn't have the patience to wait for the invisicord to show up.

Mine was a 16 pin plug, even though I don't have the mirror camera (Nav), and pin 1 green/purple was switched/hot and pin 4 black was ground. Worked perfectly.

Appreciate the responses and help. Can someone send me a picture of what it looks like where you put the invisicord hot and ground in? I have the rear view mirror cameria, the pin wont really fit in and I am afraid to force it. Did you pull out the whole harness and put it in or?

I appreciate the help greatly. Thanks all.

If it is the smaller pin version invisicord it should work fine but it is a tight fit.

I would pull the plug out and add the cord and then plug it back into the mirror.

Check the install section on the invisicord website. Under f150 there is a link to the raptorforumz with some pretty detailed instructions and comments plus pictures.

Since you have the rear camera in the mirror, your harness may be different. I pulled the plug out and I will tell you, the pins were tight to go in, but take your time.

EDIT: I just looked at the Invisicord web site and my color information is posted. http://www.invisicord.com/install.html
Plug in "Ford F150" and you'll get the info.

I just made my own. Took about 10 minutes on my lunch break at work.

Didn't want the blendmount. It makes the radar detector hang down too far with this mirror.

The way it is now, the radar detector tucks up beside the bump in the mirror instead of below it. Maybe it'll fit better when I update to the newer, smaller V1.

Okay, gotcha - it must be the V1. Mine sits right under the mirror, but I have an Escort.

16 pin connector diagram

Installed the Invisicord with mount and Escort 8500 X50 today. I have a 2011 F150 Lariat with Nav and backup cam. Mine has the 16 pin connector. I used pin 1 (GN-VT) for switched power (Fuse 32) and pin 4 (BK) for ground (grounded at left A-pillar cowl). Works great. Good Luck!!

Nice setup. How do you like the X50? I have the 9500ix - it's saved me more than I can remember! Anyway, why did you have ground wire over to the a pillar? I only have the two PIN's on the mirror harness.

This combo worked for me too. There are two different harnesses (a 10-pin for the NAV units and a 16-pin for non-NAV units). It also appears that the color of the wires differs from the '09/'10 models to '11.
