Need wiring help for Bed Lights

want to tap into the "puddle" light circuit to so the bed lights stay on with the convenience lights - anybody know what wires to tap in the driver's door sill for a 2009? Can't seem to find the right diagram.

Going to wire up Recon LED lights - from other threads here it appears I do not need a relay?

Disregard - purchased the wiring diagram from the motorcraft site, which was of no help. Eventually tapped into the tail-light circuit at the left rear - installed a switch on the tailgate, so it only works when the tailgate is down, and the light on the same circuit as the entry lights, so they can be turned on by pressing the unlock button on the fob.

Man that is a great idea! Sorry that I just stumbled onto this post. I installed the same bed light kit on my 01 Screw a couple of months ago, so I may have been able to help a little bit. I never thought about having it wired into an existing circuit like you did. That would be very convenient if you are loading something in the bed with your hands full etc, you can just unlock the truck with the fob and they turn on. Great thinking.

I installed mine wired up to the drivers side B-pillar seperating the front from the back seat. I went behind the drivers seat belt as it is vertical going up the pillar. So basically to the naked eye, no one knows it is there. You have to slide your hand behind the belt and flick the switch to turn the bed lights on. I also have a tool box so I ended up wiring 2 lights into the tool box as well so it is illuminated as well.

My question for you is, are you able to turn your lights on full time, independantly? Or does the dome lights or something have to be on? I am working on selling my truck and getting your body style and will add on the same kit to the new truck so I am also looking for future advice. Gotta love a fully functional truck!

Just looked at your album. great set up. I saw you took off your step assist handle, any chance you are willing to sell it?
