Ford Truck Prices????
Ford Truck Prices????
Is it just me or did the prices on Ford truck just sky rocket? I am on there site now and the FX4's are now starting at 37,000 used to start at about 33,000. The FX2's used to start at about 28,000 and now they are starting at 33,000. WTF......... This seems like a substantial jump in price to me! Has anyone else noticed this?
Did you change the cab from regular to Crew maybe? I've been pricing the same 4x4 Lariat Screw with same options since I bought my 2003. The MSRP for 2010 to 2011 have not changed by more than $1000.

if the Japanese can get more for their vehicles so can Ford. Capitalism at work.

I can understand an increase, but a jump in price of 3-4 grand. I guess I am the only one who thinks that's a little ridiculous. I love my truck and Ford trucks in general, but I am not Bill Gates lol
Since hardly anyone pays MSRP anyway...why the concern? Usually between $2,500 to $6,000 in rebates (or more depending on model and year) and some "easy" negotiating plus if you get the X-Plan or one of the other "plans" you can usually get the truck from $7,000 to $10,000 off of MSRP anyway...throw in a good trade (or better yet a paid off vehicle) and the take home price is even better.
My truck cost, with taxes and everything around $43,000 and I got it home for around $31,500 and a monthly payment of $211 dollars with $21,000 off counting my trade and downpayment. I consider I got a deal "I" was happy with and didn't even work that hard to get that...the dealer put me on the X-Plan on their own...I didn't even have to ask.

Jack up the price of the 2011 F-150's, then offer $9000 in incentives, why not just price the trucks lower form the get-go? Probably because most of us think we're getting a "deal" with all the incentives, we're still getting a royal flogging!
Price is based on what people are willing to pay for something. If nobody were buying trucks the price would go down. Look at when the GT500 first hit the scene, people were willing to pay 20k over sticker price, why? Because they can. Now that the GT500 has been around for awhile, prices went down. The f150 has evolved into a luxury truck. Even from my old 05 FX4 the leather quality has improved, cab size increased, and overall ride quality is better.
Take a look at how much a standard C-Class benz costs. I believe they start at 35K for a 228hp v6. Step up to the E-Class and you're looking at 49k starting with an under 300hp engine. Move into their SUV line and your at 60k and up... talk about ridiculous prices to pimp out a soccer mom.
But hey, if you have the cash... spend it!
