My 2011 EB Lariat

Picked my truck up Thursday. It had 25mi on it when I left the lot. Now it has 380mi. Avg 17.5mpg, had it up to 18.6mpg on cruise @ 65mph. This thing is awesome.

Thank you Nik....I presume this is 4WD? What rear end do you have (3.73)? Would appreciate you checking back in to post your mileage on occasion, especially if you eventually do any towing, so we can see more real world mileage from the EB engines. Congrats, and enjoy your truck.

Edit: I didn't see your picture at first, but I now see the 4x4...only question is the rear end. Nice looking ride, that's very close to what I'm after. Looks like you have the 5.5ft bed from this pic.

I would guess that the tow mirrors are a good indicator that this Lariat has the 3.73 axle ratio.

He ha the off road package, so he has the 3.73 e-locker. You can tell by the badge on the bed.

Thanks JBMX, so does yours.

jweidert, yes I have the 3.73 w/e-locker and the 5.5ft bed. I didn't think I needed the length of the longer bed. The high winds we are having across NC are killing me in the mpg. But considering what i have seen some others are having I am pretty pleased with the results so far. And I have opened her up a few times passing others. Time will tell.

I'm kindof figuring that a big reason why a lot of these new ecoboost owners have such bad mileage on the first tank is because they all have such heavy feet when they get it right? I'm sure I will be the same way. Great looking truck. I would like to know how the mirrors work for you when towing as well. I know they don't look as good as the smaller ones so it'd better work real good when towing. That's at least what I'm telling my wife.

You might want to include the first few tanks as being "poor" milage.

reverenj & Tindjin, I do my best to not let my lead foot drop too much. But it is so tempting and rewarding. I have been getting better through the use of cruise control though. I am on my 1 tank of post dealer fill up. And will post my MPG for anyone to follow.

That's almost exactly what I'm getting with almost the same truck, but the 5.0. I bought mine last Friday, and already have 1300 miles on it. It would be interesting to see how the EB compares over time.

Gassed up today, Truck says I used 18.3g. Pump says it took 19g with NO top off. Truck MPG was 16 even. Calculator was 15.5mpg.

Has anybody else noticed this large of a difference?

0.5 mpg is a large difference?

Mine is usually pretty spot on .1 difference, I will say that my Miles to empty is usually off. It depends on if I am parked on an incline or decline. So I can drive a few miles and it will corrrect but scare when you see 350 MTE but then drive down the block and it jumps to 238 MTE.

I am averaging right around 15.5~16 with some mixed driving. Not anything like the truck I test drove got. It had either 17 or 18" I didn't check and maybe that is the reason. I am kind of wishing I got the 373's now. Anyway I still love my truck just not worth the 50K to get better mileage when my miles in my 04 4X4 5.4 was around 14~15. I would of kept my old truck!

Mine always seems to read fairly accurate as far as gas used, and mileage. The actual MPG reading and miles to empty fluctuate, but that's expected since it's actually an ever changing number based on how/where you're driving, but I would say my computer is closer than the .5 off you're seeing. May get closer over time.
