2nd Service

Taking the truck in for its second service (it has about 8500 miles on it, I service in between 4k and 5k intervals). Should I have them flash anything or check TSB's? I have heard of guys getting their 2010's flashed for shift issues and other items. My truck seems to be fine with no issues except for being thirsty!

Thanks.

My recommendation would be to find a complete list of all TSB's for your year and model. Review the list and determine if you are having any of the associated issues. If you are not experiencing any of the symptoms, I recommend that you NOT get any of the TSB's done. Besides, most dealerships won't perform TSB work under warranty unless you tell them you are experiencing the related issue. I've also known guys to get TSB's performed that didn't really need them, and it just led to more issues down the road.

Like they say "If it ain't broke, don't fix it!!!"

Where can I get this list of TSB's? Thanks too. I am not thinking I have any issues, but I like to be educated on what is out there.

If you do choose to read them, you will become hypersensitive to any and all symptoms mentioned. At least I do.

I don't read them cuz of that reason. If I develop a problem, then I'll search them out.

What's the sayin? Oh yeah, ignorance is bliss.

Although there is some truth to what High-ster said, I think it's a good idea to do a quick scan of the list. I found that the update to the Sync, leaking 3rd brake light, transmission reflash, and sync microphone upgrade were items that I needed to have performed. If I hadn't looked at the list, I would have just dismissed them as something I would have to live with.

Point is, there are pro's and con's to looking at the list. Do what you are comfortable with and enjoy the truck!

Yes, I recommend just doing a search. I had a difficult time finding one single source for all TSB's for my truck. I basically hit 3 or 4 sites and combined the list from each one. I would send you my list, but my truck is an '09, and I'm sure your list will be different (and hopefully shorter )

Thanks Bryan. Love that color on the platinum.... way too many white ones and black ones on the road.

Thanks! I had an '09 Flame Blue FX4 for 6 months and had it totaled in an accident a few weeks ago. When looking for a replacement, I really wanted one just like it, but there just weren't any of the FX4's with the luxury package in blue available. This color was my next favorite, and the fact that it was a Platinum made it even better. I just wish they would call it maroon instead of Royal Red (I'm an Aggie fan, so I'm sure that has something to do with it).
