Bull bar

Anyone have any experiences with this bull bar? I am looking to get something to finish off the front end, after taking off the front plate. It will be going on a 2010 black fx2.

Come to think, will a bull bar work on an FX2?

Yah they work it usually comes with brackets that allow you to mount them up.

What is the point of a bull bar besides extra weight?

Looks good, some bumper protection, ie pushing grocery carts out of the way.

Not usually a fan of bull bars but I think that would look good on your all black FX2 (mount some driving lights in it....gives it a more purposeful, menacing look then when empty). Should bolt right up so just make sure it comes with the brackets.

I would think it would look fine since it is black and will tie in with your FX trim. Usually the bull bars mount where the tow hooks are, so no more than 4 bolts through the bracket...really easy. For trucks without tow hooks, you may have to use bolt plates (included) and require cutting out some of the plastic valance.

Here is a quick video for the Westin Bull Bar but it is installed on new Gen with tow hooks:

Hope you like getting stopped by the police for not having a front plate.

The State of California requires that all motor vehicles and light trucks have a license plate displayed on both the front and back of the vehicle. (California Vehicle Code &sect5200)

not a bad price..i would use it to protect my bumper when i get plowed in my driveway and im late for work..i usually just push through the snow bank the plows like to dump in front of my driveway....i cringe when i hear the bumper getting banged up by the snow but when im in a rush i gotta go..hmm does it completely hide the front plate?

You can get license plate relocation brackets for bull bars, kinda ugly, but they make it legal.

Just one example.... they are all over amazon, or anywhere else........

Skip the show, the ugly end result is....... you guessed it , at the end.

That is the reason I have been hesitant to get a bull bar, we are the same as many states and require two plates be displayed. I have to agree, the plate relocate bracket may keep you legal but sure doesn't help in the looks department. Guess I'll remain without.
