5star Tuning does AFE intake on 5.0

Gains 18.5 over stock with a tune and 14.2 over just the 87 tune.

I wonder how a tune and Gotts mod would compare.

I don't think the new 5.0's have the restriction to remove. I pulled mine filter and didn't think the intake tube shrunk down much.

that's it? weren't we getting more horsepower from a tune on a 5.4?

anyone know the difference between the truck and stang 5.0?

Looks like you pick up power across the entire RPM band, looks promising.

Truck 10.5:1 Compression ratio, cast iron manifolds, prob slightly different cams

Car 11:1 compressions ratio, factory shorty headers, prob slightly different cam

can't really use that as a base since they put mods on the truck before the tune.

i figured the cams would be different to be more useful in a truck, heads was the other thing i was thinking. curious to see how the 5.0 in the truck makes power once more available mods are out and people are getting them dyno'd

That is just the 87 octane tune, they claim 291 hp from the 93 tune alone.

Yes on the comp and manifolds From what i read and seen on an interview with a Ford rep. As for the cams they just changed the timing of them to change the torque curve to better suit a truck.

Is it just me, or does the 5.4L stock tune read 190 lb. ft. at 3000 RPM's and the 5.0L stock tune read 250 lb. ft. at 3000 RPM's?

The first link shows more than one tune. The red one is stock 2010 5.4 . The second link , second graph shows the stock 5.0. Clearly the 5.0 puts better numbers all the way across the power band.

Kinda shoots down that nonsense that some have preached about the 5.4 having better low end torque.

Correct. The cams are the same, the cam timing is different in the car and truck tunes. The trucks are really detuned.
