power & Ground in overhead

Looking to run my radar detector to the the overhead console. The 12v switched is easy to find, but where do you connect the ground? Is there a slot or do I have to figure out another way?

Thanks,

Jim

Lol, radar detectors are illegal in va, which is what your location in your profile says. Just in case you just moved here and didn't know.

I tapped the Blue wire and then the one next to it...I think it was purple. Everything works and goes off with the key/door opening.

Depending on what part of VA your in they get a bit aggressive on enforcement of the radar detectors, I had a old satellite radio mounted on my window and was pulled over multiple times for it on 495 by cops thinking it was a radar detector.

You may want to invest in a good (read stealthy) grill mounted detector and mount the display in the cab somewhere. That's what I have in my old maxima and have never been pulled over for it. (even though eventually both where in the same car they just wanted to look at the window mounted device...I added the radar afterward because it was annoying to take it down and put back up whenever I crossed over the bridge back into MD)

Gotta love the MD state police, when the legislature asks them about radar detectors their response is a "if it makes them slow down that's all we want".
