I agree with the OP. The new cup holder design in some of the trucks are down right idiotic. I had a center seat and console in my '07.5 STX SCab and my '11 STX SCab has a cheesy little storage area and dual cup holders under the center seat.

Ford needs to redesign and/or revert back to the same set-up as the '07-'08 had. My '07.5 STX had more comfortable seats than my '01 XLT SCab had. I'm still adjusting to the new design seats.

I will eventually pull the center seat and install a center armrest/console.

Congrats on the new truck.

I like the new seat design in the 09+ and it seems to fit me better. Not a fan of the 04-08 seats. But I have to say the most comfortable seat was the one in my 99......

But they are all more comfortable than any car..... except like an S Class, A8, or 7 Series....

J---CashAK, You lucky dog. I just talked to my salesman and he told me my EB XLT is scheduled for delivery the last week of this month. Was built on 3/9. Can I come drive yours 'till I get mine?

Nice truck. Sounds like the EB is gonna be a real good strong contestant by far. This is good to hear. I haven't seen to much around my area.

If you live in the Anchorage area, yeah sure come take it for a spin.

I actually went into the dealer with the intent to buy a Scab, but in 2009 Ford removed the 5.5' box as an option on everything but the Screw. Seeing how I'd be adding a foot to the overall length of my truck whether I got a Scab with the 6.5' bed, or a Screw with the 5.5', I decided to go with the Screw as I am looking to start a family in the next year or two, and could always use more room inside the cab. The dealers scoffed at me for saying so, but I've never come across anything I couldn't fit into the back of 2005 Scab with the short box. Now if I hauled a lot of lumber on a regular basis, I would have gone with the 6.5, but an open tailgate and a good set of tie down straps have yet to fail my humble needs.

As for the 2012/2013 models, I'm so impressed with what Ford has cooked up with this new EB that I can't wait to see what they have in store for the coming models. I plan on enjoying my baby while she's the latest and greatest though, for as long as that lasts.

My 05 wasn't bad after I broke it in, but it was pretty stiff for those first few months, especially seeing how I was going from an '89 Bronco XLT that I bought the day after I graduated high school in '98. My 2011, on the other hand, fits me like a glove and couldn't be more comfortable. I still don't like that new center console on the split bench, but I couldn't be happier with my driver seat.
