2011 Gotts mod?

I opened my airbox and didn't think the piece going into the fender was very restrictive. Has anyone else checked theirs on the 5.0? Any way to improve on stock without buying a cai?

I was wondering myself . How big is the hole at the entrance into the airbox on yours. It seems that the earlier models were narrowed down to 2".

I can get my fist all the way through it. It still may be slightly smaller than the rest of the intake, but not much. Prob not worth it.

I have a 2009 XLT SFE, just did the "Gotts mod" last night. Wow! what a difference, you can feel the power increase, hear a difference in air flow, and it just might be my mind playing tricks, but I almost feel like my exhaust picked up a nice tone. I was on cruise at 60mph and 1400 rpm getting 25.2 mpg and steadily increasing. I traveled a distance of 20 miles non stop. extremely happy with the results. Thank you to the member who posted the how-to for this mod, super helpful. best ten minutes i ever spent!!!

been wondering the same thing on my 2011 5.0, but it doesnt look very restrictive at all. well just see when the guys at PHP or troyer mess with it on the 5.0's.

I have a 2010. I ran the Gotts and it was okay, but I doubt there is a big difference. With the snout removed I'd get an annoying hum low in the torque band. I installed my PHP tunes again last night and it was so bad continually that I had to put the snout back in.

The inlet snout on the air box in my 2011 is larger in diameter than the tube where the MAF is. My truck is EB powered, but I'll bet that it is the same throughout all 2011's.
