Where do I find the code???

Okay Guys,

I've searched every forum, looked everywhere in the truck I can think of, and I still cannot find the factory code to my keyless entry keypad. I just purchased the truck used, and it did not come with the wallet card that is usually included with all of the manuals.

From what I have read so far, there are two ways to get the code at this point. One is to go to the dealer and have them pull the code from the truck's computer. The debate is whether or not I will get charged for it. The second way is to find the code on the computer module in the truck. The problem is that I can't figure out which module or where the module is located.

Can anyone help me find the module that will have the code sticker on it?

By the way, this is for an '09 Platinum Supercrew.

Thanks.

Bryan

For some reason I think it may be behind the rear seat attached to the rear wall of the cab. I may be way off on this but its worth a shot.

To the best of My knowledge and or so I have been told several times by people in the know over the last several years. There is only 1 way to obtain the code and that is to have the dealer hook the vehicle up to the computer and pull the code.
I do not believe it is stamped or printed on or in the vehicle anywhere. Or so I have been told.

It is on a label stuck to the Body Control Module, which is located on the rear wall behind the back seat. You have to remove the upper part of the back seat to see it. The alternative is going to the dealer and seeing what they will charge to hook up their computer and retrieve it for you. Others have paid from free to $100.

If you just purchased the vehicle they should provide it for free, I would go back to the dealership you purchased it fro and demand they provide it or pay to have it done.

I agree. It's my understanding that some dealers remove the card and keep it in the sales file, never giving it to the buyer.

1. Take the fuse panel cover off. This is located at the floor board on the passenger side.
2. Take the plastic corner molding off, it just pulls out but be careful not to break it.
3. Look behind the SJB for the 5-digit code. If you can't see it. Removing the two 7mm bolts which will allow you to move the SJB out enough to see it
better.

Shotgunz,

Thanks for the detailed info!!! I'll check it out tonight.

Thanks to all the others for their input as well. I bought the truck from a Chrysler dealer so they aren't much help when it comes to Fords.

I hear ya! I found 3 identical trucks to the one I bought at 3 different Ford dealers. Each one was priced $5,000 more than I paid for this one. Made the decision pretty simple for me!!!

Is the code found in the same spot on a 07 fx4 as the 09 supercrew? If not I just bought a 07 fx4 and are looking for the same number.

No it's not.

Search for Body Security Module.
