Front License Plate bracket Location

Can anyone tell me why my front license plate bracket is located on the drivers side and not in the middle of the truck. I have a 2011 XLT with the 3.5 Ecoboost and tow package. I looked around the dealers lot again today and saw only 2 others with the plate on the drivers side all others were in the middle of the vehicle. It looks dumb and I was dumber for not seeing when I picked up the truck. Anyone have any idea's. Thanks

The intercooler is located behind the opening in the middle of the bumper. That's why the license plate bracket is off to the side on an Ecoboost F150.

Not sure where you're located, but if you live in a state that doesn't require the front plate you can get a matching trim piece from your dealer to remove the license plate bracket and match the piece that is on the passenger side. I did that to mine a couple weeks ago.
