Strange noise

My truck has been making a strange noise for the past 6 months or so. I've taken it to the dealer 3 times and they cant figure it out. the noise is coming from the front on the truck, its making like a fluttering grinding type of noise. the problem is is that it does it about every 2 weeks or so, so if the dealer drives it, it wont make the noise. Any ideas?

Only time mine ever would was real low RPM in an upper gear, 5th maybe) but only lasted a second or two at most. Tried all morning to repeat it on the way to dealer. Nothing. Almost like it happens when trans would downshift.
Figured i should at least get it into the dealer to document. At least I have 54K more miles to go on the powertrain warranty!!

It shifts perfect. No gear searching. Nice and smooth but firm when you get on it. Crazy.

Hmm... I was usually going around 40 when it happend. May try it @55. I figure the dealer won't really do anything unless they can hear it. A friend of mine is a tech there, he looked it over but found nothing.

I dont think that what it is on my truck, I talked to another guy on another forum and he had the same noise, same exact thing. He took it in and the dealer said it was the heater hose, something had broken off in the hose and was hitting the fan, so they replaces the hose and he said it stopped. which that would make sense becouse if the heater hose has anything to do with the heating temp in the truck, I had the heat on all winter.
