Puddle lights out

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I need some electrical guru help. I was messing with the puddle lights on my 2010 and of course, my fault, the SOBs arced . I figured , no big deal, it's the fuse, right? F.....Kin Wrong! The fuse is fine, as is all the rest. Tested the circuit at the interior fuse block and have power. No power at the puddle light wires. Help! I am pissed and bummed at the same time. How do I fix it?

almost everything in the new trucks and cars for that matter goes through the smart junction box. SJB.

I would make sure bulbs are good. and they are connected as they were before.

take negitive battery cable off of battery. wait 10 mins. touch neg cable to positive post.

this should reset everything.

connect neg battery cable.

insert key. start vehicle. then make sure the puddle lamps work
there are fuses but there could be a solid state device after that which is 'open' due to seeing the trouble.

if that does not work., there could be a bigger issue. obviously.. but thats a start. possible a ford tech will chime in as well.

it does not take much to **** off the computer(s) these days.

Really, Let me make sure I have this straight. You want me to d/c the negative cable then wait ten min and then actually touch the neg end to the postive end? That resets it?
Just making sure I understand. I double checks the lights themselves and the fuse ( #10) and all is ok there.
Thanks for the reply.

yup.. leave the neg cable disco from the battery. for 10 mins or so.

then touch the neg batt cable, to the positive post. your not shorting the battery tems . you are shorting the vehicle pos and neg which will make sure any remaining juice in any puter is drained..

you might notice shifting , driveability change a bit. but this will ensure everything is reset to the point of all comptuers and the SJB coming back on line fresh.

ive had to do this before to cure an error on my sync system.

its all comptuers now.. not like the good ol days.
i want my 99f150 back. !!

thats not a problem at all.

I have been a comptuer and electronics geek for a long time. went to college for it..---
as confortable as i can be with almost anything. doing anything in my new truck , well. turn on the key. and see what lights pop on in the dash!!! after the project is done.

i had to put diodes inline with all my parking/turns cause they are all led. and that had be puckered..

have a good week.

brant .
