Telescoping Wheel

Does any one know how far the wheel telescopes?

I know that the FX4 has the manual telescoping wheel and the King Ranch and above has the power telescoping wheel. Why the Lariat does not have either puzzles me. So I am deciding how important it is as an option. I need to know the range in inches.

Any help would be appreciated.

I have it on my fx4 and like it a lot. I'd say it's maybe 4-5 inches. The only downside I've noticed is that the wheel won't tilt up nearly as far as others without the telescoping feature.

It is the one feature I wish I had on my '10 FX4 but my dealer told me it was not an option.

My arms need to be just about fully extended to reach the steering wheel with the seat adjusted where I like it. This is not a comfortable driving position at all, I find myself constantly switching from one hand to the other because the arm gets tired easily in this position.

Get that telescoping wheel no matter how far it extends.

Then that means KR or Plat. Because I do not want the locking rear diff. I wish they offered the manual telescoping wheel with the Lariat.

Manual or power? The one I drove yesterday did not have it. And when I looked thru the brochure it did not show it as a option.

What options did you get on your Lariat?

My Lariat also has the manual telescoping wheel. Mine has the Lariat Plus package with heated and cooled seats, but my salesman thought they all had it.

Well that is making me feel better but I wonder why the Lariat that I drove yesterday did not have it. Did your window sticker show "manual telescoping wheel"?

The only mention on my sticker is on one of the bullets it says "Cruise Control/Tilt Wheel".

When I test drove the truck I ended up buying, I adjusted the wheel and asked about the telescoping feature because I couldn't locate the switch. That is when I was shown that the tilt switch also unlocks the telescope feature. Just lower the switch and give it a pull, they are somewhat stiff.

Good luck!

I pulled on it really hard with the lever in the lower position. I could tilt the wheel but not telescope the wheel.
