I have a 2010 Platinum in Tuxedo Black and I love it. My last truck was a 2001 Lariat screw in black, and I prefer the TB paint. It looks really great in the sunlight, or under certain lighting at night. In the shade or on overcast days it looks like regular black paint. As far as paint match, my Snugtop Tonneau matches perfectly, and unfortunately I had damage to the roof when a power line fell on my truck (@ 60 mph on the Interstate) and you can't tell it was ever damaged. It's all going to depend on the expertise of the paint & body shop.

I wasn't sure at first but when I saw it in person I was very happy overall. A year later and I am still happy. Takes a bit more time and care but I would buy it again if I started all over.

That pollen comment is funny, as is the overcast story. I had a guy pick up a Fusion one time in the overcast and brought it back two days later trying to give it back to us because we'd let sap get all over it! I had to show him a few others to prove it was the paint. Needless to say, he didn't like it. But I love it!

I almost consider it a different color from gloss black. That much metallic vs. no metallic seems like apples and oranges to me.

I was unsure at first as all of my cars are a true black. After owning it for 6 months though, I really like it alot. It doesn't show scratches or swirls nearly as bad a true black does and it gets frequent compliments.

Oh yeah, black is definitely faster.
