Add SYNC?

I did a search on this, but never found a definitive answer. I have a 2010 XLT without SYNC. Single CD with Sirius.

Is it possible to add?
Would the Dealer have to do it?
I assume the wiring is there?? Does it take adding a "hard drive"?
The "phone" button is on the stereo, so I thought it might be a plug-n-play option.

Last...is it really worth it?

Thanks!

Jason

My Sync works great and my truck came with it.........

I, personally would have the dealer do it for the warranty and to know they'd use the right connections plus have a general idea of what to do, hopefully.

Plus all the steering wheel controls would probably work if the dealer did the work. If any mistakes are made and any damage, you'll know the parts were replaced with genuine FoMoCo products.

It would probably be cheaper for you to trade in your truck and get a new one. Just off of the top of my head: the steering wheel controls, there is a module behind the dash, plus the input jack and usb port would require new dash components. Then the sync wired mirror and headliner mic. And who knows what kind of wiring harness issues there would be?

This, or get a Pioneer Z series or other brand aftermarket and use that, that is what I have in my Mustang and it does voice commands, great iPod interface, HD radio, backup cam, SD card reader, USB, DVD, plays movies, GPS, etc... all while in motion if I choose. I don't do anything while driving though so relax guys, I don't even talk on my phone without BT.

Sync is ok, the only thing I use it for is phone and ipod. I on occasion use the voice deal. I have decided after a year of living with a crappy radio with a advanced sync system that the benifits of an after market DD HU outweigh the benifits of sync. So when I get all my stuff here this week I will hook it up as if sync is not there. The new head unit will sound and do things way better than the stock set up.

So it would probably be cheaper and you would get more benifits looking at DD HU's with way more features.
