X-Plan Quotes

I ordered a Platinum f150 last week and went with the X-Plan. Does anyone know if dealers ever go lower than the X-Plan price, or is that their bottom line? I am not talking rebates or special incentives just having the ability to lower the X-Plan price.

Once you throw out x there is one price and no negotiating as they could lose the plan. That being said some dealers go below x as I got my dealer to meet me 1/2 through hold back. So we aren't using x he is just 'giving' me a good deal. He is still making 500 on the deal.

I don't think you will save much over x-plan. X-plan is around .2% less than invoice + around $200 doc fees. The good thing about the x-plan is the price is set. For example, I priced the truck I have now with the x-plan, around 32,600. I declined wanting a better price. They quoted 32,400, which was a couple hundred below invoice and I accepted. When signing the final papers I noticed they had added window etching to price, which I had them remove. Later I noticed the document fees. Long story short, next time I will go with the x-plan and not worry about playing the game in which the car dealers have much more experience than I.
I don't think you can do a lot better than invoice - available discounts which the x-plan gives you.

One good thing about x-plan is the doc fees are capped at $75. Some dealers will offer under x-plan, but then hit you with a $200 doc fee, so you end up spending more than x-plan.

XPlan here is invoice, plus 1% and $100 Doc fee. Every dealer's deal is the same.

So, best I can tell they make about $900 hold back on a $30,000 truck and they spend a good bit of time and work with your test drives, cleaning the vehicle, fixing any last minute nit noid stuff and they are there for the service & warranty later on.

IMHO, that's a deal I just don't need to try to drive even lower. The County where I live does NOTHING for the sale and makes three times what the dealer does.

Here's an example of what the bottom an invoice looks like.

The dealer makes more than the holdback. There is are several other incentives the dealer receives on the back end.
