New Jack Location Needed

Just replaced my 1999 F150 XLT SCab with a 2010 F150 Lariat SCab with Chrome Package. Absolutely love it, but one thing! The dam jack mounted to the floor under the rear seat...how stupid was that? So I need to find a new location, I use this space daily, and it has got to go! I was thinking someone must have found a new place for it, and under the small seat won't work for me since I have the Sony sound system and that space is 100% consumed by the sub box. I was thinking to find it a new home under the hood, but thought I would ask around first to see what others have done. Any good ideas out there?

Have you thought about a work box/tool box in the bed and stowing the jack inside?

I think the tool box in the bed is one good idea...

Wrap it on an oily rag, put it inside a plastic bag and throw it on top of your spare tire.

Don't carry a jack and get On-Star.

Seriously, I wonder if there is room behind the 2nd seat back?

I think under the hood is probably the best option. On top of the spare tire won't work well if you need the handles to get the spare up and down. Unless they've changed things for 2010.

Really???

I figured out how to retain my handles in my Du-Hardy-Har.

Even the OM states to obtain more room, store the jack above the spare.

Even better, throw the handles inside the spare, too. Heheheheheehe.

Great input. I like the top of the spare idea, but joking aside, the handles might fit else where without problem. But the jack needs a new home! And the floor bracket is outta there! Thanks for the great ideas.

Stick it in your sub box.

This is my mission this weekend. I f'in hate the retarded spot they put that jack. I am going searching for a new home for it under the hood, looks like enough room under there to hide a small family.

I visited the sandbox on two occasions during Desert Shield/Desert Storm. Thanks for your service, stay safe and good luck on your upcoming purchase.
