If I remember correctly, the g2 is now made like the hd, and they got rid of the hd version. So they should only be selling g2's and f1's, if your getting an hd it should be an old production. I have the f1 and love it.

 

^wrong, HD is still made and is a slight step up from the G2 and was revised a few months ago to incorporate the same flat panel hinges/seals as the F1.

my "old" HD is 2 years old this month and still holding up great and no leaks.

I'm probably not any help here but I'll give my 2 cents anyhow.

I was originally looking at getting the RollBAK cover. I did some research on this forum that led me to believe that it wouldn't be the best choice for me with the New England winters. Then I was looking at the BAKFlip. I did some research here and it appears that this type of cover is known for leaks.

Today I ordered a LineX cover. It's made by DiamondBack. I think that it's one that people should look at before they make a final decision on any other brand. It's a little more money than the BAKFlip but it looks like it's worth it.

Yep, I loved my Linex cover. It was even better when the price was 799 shipped last year. I guess prices went up a bit.

 

It is nice looking but it does not fold out of the way so you have to anticipate using the bed, my wife and I went to dinner and we ended up looking at the furniture store next door, well we ended up buying a couch. I just backed the truck up and folded it against the cab and walla all set. I also love the low profile look that leaves the stake bed pockets free.

I have never got any amount of water in mine that would "soak" anything I had back there. I keep FF gear back there 24/7 and have never had an issue. It has been through several torrential downpours and 6" of snow just recently.

And I agree with the leaks, I get a little bit of a leak thru, it actually is more like the underneath sweating a bit or a minor drip from a side. But for the most part it stays dry.

This is after like two days of non stop rain, including downpours, with the bedrug it would be easy to see any leaks. You can see the darker spot on the right side next to the wheel well that's wet, but wasn't soaked.

 

I agree about the open bed. That's why I was originally looking at the RollBAK. There is so much knowledge here on this site and after doing a fair amount of research I came to the conclusion that there isn't a cover that will meet all of my expectations. The LineX cover meets most of them. I have to have a dry place for camping and hiking gear. I hope that I can work with the removable doors if I need more space.

I guess everyone has to figure out what will work best for them. I honestly had no idea that there were so many different covers. I've only had soft covers. I have to have a lockable space though.

 

I did best I could and found the BakFlip G2 for $600. I just ordered mine.... They said they will ship it out tomorrow and should have it in about a week or so.
