It's always the third or forth party second hand information around here when it comes to K&N filters. Most are opinions.

Oiling of the MAF and throttle body is a documented problem with several types of vehicles that never have had a K&N installed. Everyone wants to blame the K&N.

I am another one that has used K&N's for years with no problems. Best thing for you to do is try it yourself.
