About 2 days ago, my sync seems to have developed a severe hearing deficit. It doesn't seem to understand any names in my address book and seems to try to pic names randomly from the list when I try to make calls. Up until about 2 days ago, it worked beatifully - for 15 months - very few errors when voice commanding a name. But now, I think it may need a Miracle Ear. Anyone else experience this issue and if so, what resolved it?

 

For similar issues, pulling the Sync fuse has worked. If not, try a Master Reset. You may also want to try a different phone (just to be sure).

If it still doesn't work, it might be the microphone and it's time for a trip to the dealer.

I had the same problem. Went to dealership, talked to the team manager about the upgrade to the Mic for sync. He never heard about it. But he dug into it and found the TSB. Ordered the kit FedEx, next day he put in the hands of his best tech. Since this was the first one they did, which surprises me. A huge difference. No longer do I have to scream and yell.

 

what's the TSB number? I think i have the same issue.

Well, I didn't do anything - not even pull fuses - and it seems to have returned to normal operation. darned gremlin, I guess. may need to call an exterminator. :-)

 

ive had my '11 f150 lariat 2 weeks. sync hasnt worked right......or even THE SAME each day since then, took it to
the dealer (after all, i paid 41k cash) and they tried to reload the software.....didnt work and they blamed recent thunderstorms....THUNDERSTORMS?....REALLY? I watch them squirm with an ever interesting list of excuses.....(havent told them Im an electrical engineer).....its really fun to hear their theories about some mythical 9 point plug behind the dash someplace....in short.....Ford hasnt got a frikken clue what to do. My sync has displayed a vast array of issues....and it seems to come up with new ones everyday. microsoft......says it all....gates is the biggest huckster of all time.....If you sold cars that worked as poorly as any microsoft product, youd be arrested!!!!!!anyone disagree?
