!7x9 on 2010 F150

Does anybody know if we can go down to a 17x9 inch rim on the 2009-2011 F150's? I have a 2010 Scab Xlt 4x4 and can get a set of 17x9 for almost absolutely nothing. Thanks guys.

probably depends how thick the wheel is. I know on my stock 17" wheels there is very little clearance between the brakes and the wheel.

I have ***** Cepek 17x9s on my truck. Others on here have 17s as well. Just watch the backspacing/offset.

Well after seeing you with the **** Cepek rims, I am getting 4 of them from my friend for $350 so I was curious because he has to ship them to me and didn't want to have to pay for shipping and them not work. They are DC2's 17x9 6x135 with -12 offset and 4.5 backspacing. Still let us know on that test fit. Also johnfields20 what size tires of those? Thanks guys

Thats the same wheels I have. The 4.5in backspacing limits you some on tire size. I have 285/70/17 on mine with no leveling kit. You will have to trim about a 1/2 inch on the front valance if not they will rub sometimes at full lock in reverse. If you install a leveling kit there will be no worries.

Well I do have a leveling kit, so that works out great then. Thanks so much guys on the help and will post pics soon of the truck when I get it all done. Also do you happen to know what the biggest tire we can go with is?

I saw this thread on 17 inch wheels for 2010 F150 4X4. How does this change from OEM 20 inch rims effect the tire sensors?

I just went from factory 20s to a 17x8 and reused the sensors. They are not the band type, they mount to the inside of the valve stem and all they do is sense pressure so tire size doesn't matter.

Thanks for the advice! I think I will go with 17's. I want more rubber and they are so much less expensive. I need to decide on b/s and whether to level or lift the truck.

Currently on 2" level, I have the rear block but haven't decided if I want it on or not. My rims are Mayhem Riot 17x8 +10mm offset (factory is +36mm) I paid $145 a rim shipped. I went with 295/70r17 (33.5x12) and paid $1120 to my door w/ no tax from tirecrawler.com for Toyo MT. A similar size in a 20" rim was about $1500 for the toyos. With the rims I only spent $1700 for mine.
