Crome tow hooks
Crome tow hooks rusting
Anyone here have their chrome tow hooks rusting? Got the XLT chrome package on my 2010 (purchases in April 2010) and they are already rusted with 9k on the odo. Want to see if this is a wide spread problem or maybe just got a bad set. I have not used them for anything yet.

All other components of the chrome package are rust free so far, side steps, bumpers, exhaust tip. My last 2000 F150 had chrome bumpers front and rear with not a speck of rust after 10 years and I didn't wash the truck for the last 5 years I owned it...
Are there any chrome care products that you recommend?

I used to wipe my chrome exhaust tips with WD40. Even leave a light spray or film on them of it. Made them last a lot longer, especially since exhaust tips are prone to rusting fast.
I also figured the exhaust tip would go first seeing how it gets dinged by rocks, etc being behind the rear tire. Just surprised the tow hooks are rusting after less than 1 year. One is worst than the other. Next trip to the dealer I will bring it up.
I got my hooks replaced once already and I just noticed today that the rust spots are appearing again
