USB/CD/FM sound quality w/speaker upgrade?

I installed (4) Pioneer 6x8" 2 way speakers in my '07 SCab STX and used the Ford HU and the speaker upgrade was very pleasing. I have installed the same speakers in my '11 SCab STX and it sounds like trash when using the CD and FM function but rocks when I use the USB function. I understand that Pioneer's aren't the best speaker in the world but it baffles me how there is a night and day difference in the sound quality between each function.

The Ford speakers are horrible but the Pioneer's sound even worse when not using the USB function. Is it because of a digital processor? Has anyone had similar results with their speaker upgrade?

Thanks

Yup. Put Polk audio in my front doors caus eof how easy the Sony system bottomed out and the highs rock but bass is horrible. Was told by crutchfield that they are under powered. But I'm not adding an amp. Hate cutting factory wiring.

Thanks 5point4; I was wondering if all the F150 Sync systems are the same with aftermarket speakers or if mine was the exception.
