New truck sales are looking slow

I was surprised to see Ford release 4,500 in rebates on the 2011's already... I will watch the price of fuel this summer...

Ford has to follow suit as the others are doing it, hell even Toyota is doing it.

The 36 gallon tank makes me shudder a little when I put $100+ in the tank. Just think, at $4/gallon, that's pushing $140 per fillup. Makes me REALLY happy work pays for all my fuel! Incentives will have to keep up with fuel prices.

Truck sales will nosedive at $3.25-$3.50 or higher (I'm in the midwest, paying $2.999 currently). Most U.S. family (and personal) budgets can't handle $3000+ per year in fuel, not to mention everything else going up due to higher freight and shipping surcharges.

i like to fill up when i am between half and a quarter tank. The total isnt so bad so it makes me feel like i am not dropping all my money in the tank.

I agree the truck market is tied to gas prices, I was somewhat surprised to see that GM is adding truck production at their Flint Assembly plant.
http://detnews.com/article/20110122/...at-Flint-plant More trucks on the market. Oh well, should bode well for those of you wanting to buy in the coming months. An increase in supply (even for GM) should translate to lower prices for all buyers.

When the price hits 4$+, trucks will be slashed in price significantly. I can't wait. My wife is due to give birth in June and my current truck will be paid off by then. New Screw for the family in August!
