Will the Factory Plastic/separating Bed Extender for a 2010, operate with a tonneau cover that has the mounting rails on the inside of the bed rails??

Does this extender need to be flipped up or can it slide out in different directions? If it has to be flipped up, does the extender offer enough clearance to get by the tonnea cover mounting rails. I think cover rails extend from 1.5" to 3" inside the bed rail for most covers.

Mine works fine with the extender.The extension pieces have to be flipped over and there is plenty of room. I just fold the first section of the tonneau over.

 

Take a look at my gallery, I have the OE bed extender pics from when I added it. should give you a good idea of all clearances.

 

Thanks, from the pics on Ford acc. site, I was expecting the bed extender to cage in more of the tailgate. From your pics kingfish51, the extender has a sharp angle in, towards the center of the tailgate. This isn't going to help me much as I wanted to utilize all of the tailgates area that can be done with some other extenders.

Well here's to looking for another.
